When it comes to finding firearms for sale, you might be looking for something to customize to your preferences. Whether you want a different stock, grip options, a lighter trigger, or more aftermarket parts than you know what to do with, these five firearms are some of the easiest to modify and personalize to your specific preferences.

AR 15

One of the easiest firearms to customize and accessorize is the AR 15. Simply deciding which company to choose for a lower receiver can be mind-boggling. Do you go with hybrid polymer or metal? Should you opt for a lower with an integrated bolt release on the right side, above the mag release, or a classic paddle on the left? Do you buy the rifle whole, like a DPMS AR 15, or do you piece it together and build it yourself from various manufacturers? These questions will have different answers for different people, depending on your budget, knowledge of rifle building, and how you want to use the rifle.

Glocks

From the Glock 19 to the Glock 35, there are enough aftermarket parts for Glocks that, after customizing, they may not look entirely like a Glock anymore. Take the Taran Tactical Glock upgrades, which switch out the majority of the parts except for the receiver. The slide is cut to reduce weight and milled for an optic. The barrel is switched out for a match-grade, often-gold-colored barrel. Then, additional stippling is added by hand to the grip, the trigger is switched out, and the mag is lengthened. While these modifications are professionally done, you can also change parts yourself, like the trigger connector. Add a light or your favorite red dot, and you are ready to hit the range.

1911s

The 1911 has been around for more than a century and has been a mainstay of armed forces around the world. The list of aftermarket parts is nearly endless, with grips, mag releases, slide releases, triggers, mainsprings, and other parts available for swapping and customizing. John Browning may have made the gun, but there is a century of improvements you can add to this firearm to make sure it meets your needs.

Remington 870

It helps to be popular when you want mods, and the Remington 870 is one of the most popular shotguns around. The trigger group and safety are the most popular modifications, but stocks, extractors, magazine extensions, sidesaddle shell holders, sights, and even barrels can all be customized, depending on the set-up you want.

Ruger 10/22

There is an entire industry devoted to modifying Ruger 10/22s. When you are done changing the receiver, trigger, barrel shroud, and stock, it could look like something from a science fiction movie. Keep in mind, it is easy to spend far more on modifications than you did on the firearm itself. Still, being able to get the exact firearm specifications you want is invaluable.
